Welcome to Flashback Journey

Transport Back to Special Moments in Time

Flashback Journey begins with those instances when we hear a song or smell a scent and find ourselves remembering a special moment in time. Almost daily, I experience a sensation that triggers a memory for me. It could be something as simple as the smell of freshly cut grass. I am then instantly transported back to sitting in my third grade class on a spring day, re-experiencing the fresh aromas floating through the open window.

But there’s more than just that…

This simple memory then triggers another:

… the memory of a good friend in that class
… and another: a story read aloud by our teacher
… it can be endless: even the clothing I wore that day

I find it fascinating that there are so many memories waiting to come to the surface, if we only allow them to. These memories bring me happiness and comfort as I reconnect with myself as a child, teenager, and adult — and remember all those who have left an impression on my life, no matter how small.

I’d like to share some of these “flashbacks”, so that others may join in conversations about their shared memories. One does not have to have known someone personally to have “shared memories” — people may simply have experienced living in the same state, appreciating the same music, participating in a particular event, etc., that someone they have never met has special memories about, too.

Your Neverending Journey

Flashback Journey is not only about memories and connections from the past. Today we are making special memories that we will have forever. Our lives really are infinite journeys. What are you doing right now to enrich the story of your own never-ending journey?
